Sleepness nights
I know by now, I should be used to not sleeping in the night but it still feels terrible! Slept for 4 hours last night and it just isnt enough... damn this teething phase!

Incoming teeth
Just when we had given up and resigned ourselves to the fact that Sana wouldnt have teeth until she was one- lo and behold it appeared on Superbowl Sunday. Dad was relatively unimpressed but Mom was dancing in joy. Then we found 2 more coming in on top... and now all Sana seems to do is drool drool and drool. She seemed to enjoy gumming ice cubes in the mesh... but she will eat anything to get some relief from the teething- from Deepti Mauvshi's glass table to the table at Peets.

I stand, I fly!
its been a week of major milestones...
sana climbed on first flight ever from seattle to SFO past friday - not overly fussy on this short flight... we had a good time in SF hanging out with other friends and their babies...
we come back from SF and it's valentine's day - and guess what, Sana decides she wants to crawl across the living room to a box lying around ... pulls herself against the box and WHOA!!! she's standing on her own... that's something...

Jealous banana baby
Couple of things which I find really funny:
Since Sana has been home with the grandparents she has gotten used to getting a lot of attention, so now when she is in daycare she actually gets upset when Ms. Libby is playing with other babies.
She is a tall baby... coming in at about 27 inches, but she weighs only 13.5 lbs. When I did some research I found that people call this kind of a baby a "banana baby" I have no idea where she gets those genes from!

Over a month later
We have now been in daycare for about 2 months. Since we started, it has been diaper rash from hell, followed by the ebola stomach virus, then it was the terrible cold and cough and now it is fluid in the ears. Throughout all of this we have learned to roll over ( it is a preferred mode of transportation now), how to grab things in our hands and hold them tight... like Sakes tail. We also have developed a sense of humor and we love Niinnniii.
Sana seems to be growing so quickly, it feels like just yesterday when I was complaining she wasnt sleeping enough. She now sleeps 8 hours at a stretch which I used to dream about, and that still isnt enough!
The new daycare is really nice, I get a positive feeling from it everytime I go there. I love her teacher Libby, and whenever I go to pick her up, she is cuddling with Ms. Libby and is showing her genuine signs of affection. We now need to get Sana a passport so we can go to Vancouver in the holidays.

Diaper rash from hell
Sana seems to have seriously gotten the diaper rash from hell. After dreading the first week of day care, we have managed to avoid the Ebola virus which everyone claims their progeny came down with that first week. Instead we have the worst diaper rash anyone has ever seen on a human. To make things worse, when we put Sana in the tub for her bath you would have thought that we are torturing her in a new way, that's how much she yelled. I haven't heard her yell like that ever!!
It took a good half an hour to calm her down after that. M was worried that she would associate him with the bath (which really hurt from the sound of it) and was insistent on cuddling her for awhile after.
The bright side to all of the tortured yelling.... she slept for 7 hours at a stretch last night :)
